Just been out for in town jaunt - on the way back when I hit the mother of all pot holes losing my front part of my spolier and spot light in the shagging process.

I now need an S2 Front Spoiler - if anyone has one to sell I'd be grateful if the offer and condition is sound!! Fekking Haringey Council...!!

Can you not put a clame into your local council for the repairs and also get the hole filled, i would take pics of it and chase them.
Can your spoiler not be repaired... or is it a gonner

Yeah I'm going to put a claim in - went back to look for the other part of the spolier and found my other Fog Light Flattened!

More gutted because it ruined a lovely drive with my Daughter...At least I can try out a new way to spray it. If it works out I'll paint the whole car!!

Seconded get piccies of the hole with a ruler.

I know someone who had the bottom of the wedge ripped out due to a bollard not being removed completely when making another access to a car park. He took pictures filed a complaint. The Council went back and took the stump out and said what bollard? He said see you in court with the pictures.

Sorry to hear of that - sounds bad. And I thought Essex had the worst roads in the country.

Re the remarks in the later post about "What bollard?" remark - your pal could tell them that false accounting is a criminal offence (i.e. telling a lie) and that he is considering criminal action against the officer(s) concerned. Also contact the Chief Executive of the council re 'dishonest employees' etc., get a piece in the local paper.......and so on.

That should provide for a little entertainment.

Mate of mine had nigh-on the same scenario with a pothole that buckled the front wheel of his Kawa z900. Took pics, rang the council, hole filled that afternoon.
Had the film developed, sent copies, council bought him a new front wheel.

They had something on 5th Gear about it, make sure you get depth and width and length measurements. I think if it was more than 50mm you have a good case to claim.

Oh and if you fancy trying a racing splitter like on my racer let me know.

An update...daylight at the scene and pieces of spoiler litter the road etc. When it's safe to do I'll get some pics, Turns out it wasn't a pothole but a sunken manhole cover.

I'll keep you posted on the renewing of the said spoiler and subsequent spray job once I get the replacement.

If the hole has already been reported - check www.fillthathole.org.uk and www.potholes.co.uk - then your claim will be watertight (if you'll pardon the pun) - it's negligence.

When you take photos also put a tape measure in the shots for scale.
