Just out of interest does anyone know exactly what's involved to get a Rover V8 into an early V6 chassis? Do you actually have to cut the chassis or can it be dome with custom manifolds and ancillary brackets?

Just wondering like wink

Leighs done it in the racer, don't think cut any chassis, added different mounts ,moving engine higher and further back ?

Manifold go foward like chim and probably several more mods required

As what Paul said,
Plus I had to do a custom plenum, and then still had to fit a bonnet bulge.
It would be possible though to get it lower and clear the bonnet, if you make completely custom headers.

Depending on the design of the manifolds you may have to move the radiator also.

AFIK I'm the only person to fit one this way. as I did not want to cut the chassis, esp as I'm racing it, so did not want to compromise the chassis design.

Thank's for the info, it's good to know it can be done. The idea of a 400 Tasmin FHC sounds good to me!

If you every come to any of the TVR challenge racers find me and have a look.
Also I had to fit a smaller alternator, this may not be up-to it though if running a full system, on the racer I don't run much.

Also because I'm running an Emerald fully Managed system, and have a top suspension chassis brace, I'm running the latest non disy serp. front end.

but I'm sure you could find the normal style, but you would need to run a remote oil filter.
my system gives me room to run a normal full size filter in the original position.

I'm hopefully soon going to be putting a full race 4.6 320 BHP RV8 in there and a T5 box.
