Would I fit in a 400SE?
Discussion
It would be a very tight fit I would imagine athough possible. I'm 6ft and on all my wedges I've had to have the seat as far back as it will go and even then could have done with a little more.
I would suggest seeing if you can find someone local with one, and see if you find it comfortable or not....

Hi,
If you near or passing Wiltshire you can have a sit in, and i'll trade a sit in the Cerb, as i am looking for one for my school run with two kids in the back.
I'm 6ft 5in and feel ok in 400, the door card handle area does impose on your knee, the column is adjustable so helps and the pedals are well spaced too.
Standard seats the windscreen top bar is a pain, as in I feel / do duck to get a better view as the line is like having the sunvisors down, visors down does not work.
Mounting the seat off runners would give you more, along with a "race"style to remove the padding would help as well.
Peter size...well they say he designed it to fit in but he must have been roof off and no windscreen bar when he sat in it.
Regards
Nick

Nick- I don't think I am down Wiltshire way anytime that soon- but thanks for the offer. As far as the Cerb is concerned you should fit it one without too much of a problem and I am sure the kids (if they're young enough and small enough) will have no problem in the back of the car.If you near or passing Wiltshire you can have a sit in, and i'll trade a sit in the Cerb, as i am looking for one for my school run with two kids in the back.

I guess from the feedback I might just about be able to shoehorn myself into one!
I was suprised at how much leg and headroom there is in a wedge (yes even in an old 280i with the dreaded roof up!) I'd be very suprised if you couldn't fit I'm about 6ft and can have the seat 2 clicks forward and also have bags of headroom.
Before anyone says anything my roof spends most of its life in the boot where it should be!!

Yes, you'll be fine with a 400SE+. First of the Peter Wheeler cars so he had to fit in!
Ummm... Wheeler had nothing to do with the original design, he bought into the company once Wedge production was well under way.Edited by Englishman on Wednesday 25th August 20:26
