Getting to Grips with my SEAC.
Discussion
Hi
I have spent the last week getting to know my new toy!
A couple of things are still getting me mystified and worried!
1. I can't work out how the driving lights come on!
On my 350i it's by a seperate switch, I was even told today they come on when the main beam is on, NO! So how do/are they activated.
2. The car has all new ajustable shocks, the ride on main roads is very bumpy to say the least!
How hard a ride are they!

Wellcome to the elite owner ship of wedgedon it shouldnt get any better
Your driving lamps should come on with full beam.
In my car i have the rover stocks and there is no extra switches for lights, could have blowen bulbs.
They were fitted with harder springs than the SE's from the factory and ajustable shocks but they dont last for ever, ive moved to coil overs all round, much better.
You will find the umbrella hand brake pants and when its out it will hit your left knee...bugger
As for how they feel on the road ive never driven a SE but i drove Phill's 420SEAC (thanks Phill
) and it felt prity good on the road round black pool area, i dont think you can compaire these cars any more as they will have there own chararter comming with age, we all make them our own.
Happy driving

I have the 4 clock dash and the rover stalks. The driving lights should come on with the main beam. I have the manual which came with my car and it's the standard TVR 400SE/450SE owners handbook. It could have been acquired later as it's dated 1990 and my car was built in 1988. The illustrations in this handbook show the ford like stalks. There is no reference to a separate switch for the front driving lamps, so I think yours should come on with the main beam as well.
The ride with my 420SE was very harsh and rather crashy when I first bought it and on certain bumpy corners I could skip it round a bit. You will get accustomed to it and adjust your driving style to suit. Mine may have yet been even harder and was described as having a 'race' set up. I know that some cars are quite compliant, but the hard ride is part of the TVR character. No doubt you can adjust shocks to suit your preference or even change spring ratings - but will that not detract from the character of the car?

Hi
Well found the drive light problem, the drive lamps relay was u/s. I changed it, and now have lights when the main beam is on and they also come on when I flash! (Lights)
Also tonight sorted another small problem, which was my windsceen washers, they now put water on the screen not on to the under side of the bonnet!
The adjustment of the shocks is next!

Glad you're getting to grips with her Andy... she needs to be used, alas she spent moe time being admired than driven.
The suspension (Gaz I think) was fitted by Str8six, they set it up very stiff just to ensure it would get up my drive..which it did with ease.
I then got them to back it off some more as it was still silly hard & bouncy! Just needs fine tuning.
So so odd seeeing her on here but with someone else, its like being cheated on..(lets not go there!!)

You found out that when she is cold & not completely warmed up she will be a bit jerky! Just needs judicious touches on the throttle until warm.
How'd go with the wheels?

Hi Wayne
Yes I thought you had put kangroo juice in!
Yes get things sorted, and its being treated as she should (Like you did) but with a bit more use!
I will be looking at the suspension next weekend.
Ref the wheels, Paul is happy and I will be collecting them later in the month!
Thanks again for selling it to me!
