I sold my the third wedge I have owned over a period of 20 years - a 350se - 4 months ago and bought an XJ8 to accomodate 3 children and wife (and still have some fun driving). All has been fine for the four months - I've generally been sleeping well, not drinking too much, regular trips to the gym, no logging in to the wedge forum etc etc. The XJ8 is quick, comfortable, stable at speed with doors that clunk shut and don't rattle, no water ingress, surprisingly economical - a great car.

However last night I didn't sleep well, felt uneasy - can't quite put my finger on it but when I woke up I found myself ........almost in a trancelike state, gliding downstairs, firing up the laptop and typing 'Tasmin FHC' into the Google search box.

After 20 years with these things I'm obviously beyond help.

The first one is sold but I like the ad for the second one

It says:- There are service panels on the back shelf to allow access to the rear brakes.

Sounds a lot better than my:- There's a hole in the floor to get to the brakes

I know how you mean. Been with Wedges for many a year now. Look at a Griff...... OK, not ready yet, no never be ready. Thought about about one of the newer ones..... nah, like the shape etc but aint a wedge. Cerbera might tempt me but the Wedge has ingrained the soul. Especially the sound of an unmodified sound system and in yer face Wedginess. For me its the style, sound, lack of any sensible stuff like lights and brakes, 3000 mile a year for the rears, petrol consumption like its trying to suck it out the ground and it water proof.... IT IS... Honest.

Mind you, Gang on the Green there was a Black Cerbera. Black inside as well, like looking out a pill box all you needed was a machine gun and Germans coming up the beach and Spitfires zooming overhead. Superb Car........ mmmmmmmmm Spitfires......

Im a secret lemonade drinker..Sorry but you just reminded me of an ad years ago.. Well i must be honest i am new to TVRs but ive owned a wedge for a month and even though ive not driven it properly and ive threatened to smash it up..burn it.. bury it..attack it with an angle grinder,Yet as soon as someone gives a possible solution to the problem.. I cant sleep.. and when i do I wake up early, heart pounding.. There is this hope feeling all over my body,The world suddenly looks brighter.. Its like when your in love and you pretend your not and then she says shes leaving you... Please dont go.. i love you.. I reckon Trevor was the devil and he built them to get into your soul..
I cant live.. if living is without you.. i cant live..i cant live anymore..The 80s were a great time,,laugh

The 80's were indeed a great time ! If I had a TARDIS (a Rover V8 powered one of course) I would probably travel back and live in the decade of Soft Cell, Ultravox (and wedges) permanantly !

Funnily enough the guy I bought it from was replacing it with a TVR (3000S DHC)

Soft Cell, Ultravox,The Cars,etc....still got the vinyl albums, and not forgetting Gary Numan and the Wedge vid. smile

The FHC above looks pretty good to me.
