GWP204 is the one on my SEAC and I imagine the same as on most wedges with external leccy fan.

Not sure if this is the very same as QCP2095.

I image the QCP is Quinton Hazel.

Who is GWP?

Local Landrover house has told me my unit is no longer available.

Now I'm aware that China's in on this game (producing car parts no longer manufactured by the original supplier) and don't get me wrong - I've got nothing against the Chinese, their takeaways are ok on a Saturday night. However, their manufacturing QC is many times lacking and I don't like the idea of a Chinese made water pumps as their bearings are likely to go south far earlier than the OEM parts fitted on our cars.

Here's a list of RV8 pump suppliers and I'd like any other possible sources you can think of added before I draft a mail to see who's got what and whether it's British or Chinese.

Got my last one from RPI (V8Engines) about 3 / 4 years ago. Couldn't tell you where it was made, but seems fine so far.

Surely it couldn't be that hard to strip and rebuild with new bearings and seals?

OK great.

Gives me some new part numbers to chase but I get the feeling most are foreign imports now.

As some have stated they've had no problems with foreign water pumps so will visit the motor factors Monday and see what they can now find.

Tnx again.

You forgot ebay in the list, last one I bought was £26, and is still on the SX working well 6 months later.

I missed one later that went for £12, brand new too.

Nice find.

It seems both Quniton Hazel and Unipart are still showing their respective part numbers so will chase up their retail & trade outlets this week.

Tnx

The problem is most places are asking near £100.00.

I'll contact QH & Unipart this week and find out what the deal is then go get a pump at a local Indi factors.

I do not like being ripped off if I can help it.

Hi Chris,

Yes, I heard about First Line today however I spoke to Quinton Hazel and they confirmed the original QCP2095 is in stock so will be visiting their local distributor tomorrow.

I just hope the price is not north of £60 or so quid at trade price.

Are you any good at Aly welding? You can have my old one for a tenner plus some p+p, there's nothing wrong with the pumping, bearings or seals, but there's a stress crack at one end of the casting, which is where it started weeping. It's done 35000 miles so plenty of life in it yet.
