Hi everyone.
As the old regulars know, I was in a heavy accident on a country road a few years ago when an oncoming 4x4 knocked me off my motorbike and drove off into the night leaving me hanging in a tree with a broken spine.

I made it down to the wedge fest I'd been helping to organise in a fibreglass straightjacket 10 weeks later, but following that I pretty much crashed and burned. Found and lost a job with the Yorks Air Ambulance, struggled financially, physically and mentally for quite a while. Finally got my life back on track with the help of my lovely new ladyfriend Kath over the last year or so. I've restored my old Aerostar van and just used it yesterday to haul my 350i over on a trailer to my home from the increasingly damp lockup it was festering in.

There's a lot to do, but I'm doing my best to get on with it. Big thanks to all who sent good wishes following the crash, and big apologies for any loose ends I left untied when my life collapsed for a while. Remind me of any promises I made and I'll try to fulfill them. I have a couple of Ginetta logbooks for someone in Holland if I can find out their address.

I hope I can get my Wedge back on the road in time for next years BBWF if it's still happening.

Cheers all

pwd: Nice pic hehe

jmorgan: Thanks. Things are on the up. I've found a part time job at my local university. Pay is miserable, but colleagues are great.

Hello Roger

We met at the last BBWF you were at "the tug o war one" i think, I had a bad accident back in 2006 getting my right leg crushed by a 4 tonne pipe at work and was told off the doc's i could lose my leg. The hardest part is the mental healing so i know what your going through pal. Trust me though everything does get better it just takes time. Wedge miles are very theraputic by the way.

P.s Im thinking of building a wedge rolling chassis from scratch so if your not using that scaffold anymore it would come in very handy smile Take care fella and see you at the next BBWF.

Ey Up Stranger

Good to hear you are still about Roger
and glad someone has kicked you into shape

I just thought you had jetted off to sunnier climes
and forgotten about us all back here in grey old Blighty

Especially as I had never seen you in the Junction in Otley

Give me a shout and I will call round and take you for a spin in the 400SE
I am sure that will then inspire you to get the Wedge back on the road

Don't be a stranger anymore

Cheers
Richard

I should be at the meet Monday night Roger (even tho it is my youngest's 18th birthday)

Be aware the infamous Woolpack has been closed down for the last 3 months
so we have been meeting at the Shoulder of Mutton at the bottom of Hollins Hill

Will let you know if anything changes

Cheers

Wow! Roger -

Good to hear you are well on the way to a full recovery, and glad to see you back on the forum. Be good to have a few glasses of foaming ale with you again - we were the original Wedgers at the Black Horse - and to see the wrecked state you were in at breakfast! Or did you fail to make it to breakfast?

Sad to hear about your woes, but I think that shows us all that you are made of pretty stern stuff.

Hope you keep on getting better and fitter, and continue to post on here.

Cheers!
JJ

TB, I hadn't realized what had happened to you. Congrats on the recovery. It is good to have you back, the quality of right vs left argument on here has severly declined; you have returned none too soon. biggrinbeer

Ali Kat: Hi! wavey
Graham: I'd be honoured to do the parking attendant job at next years BBWF. Still at Ettington?
Richard: See you at the Shoulder of Mutton monday.
JJ: Happy drunken memories. But I heard Kirk and Ali have moved from the Black Horse. Anyone know where they went?
Beaux: I expect you've got plenty to grumble about at the moment. hehe
Steve: Hi! How's pub trade?
Campbell: Cheers!
Barrington: OK now I'm confused. Is 'pistolar' Wymm with the restored Grantura and several wedges? My memory is shot to bits.
