Both rear springs are shot on my '84 trailing arm wedge, and I can't afford fancy new suspension at the moment. Does anyone have any useable springs I can buy, beg or borrow?

Thanks

Are they the same springs as the A frame set up? If so, I'm about to change mine so you can have the old ones. Nothing wrong with them either just up-grading. thumbup

I also have a rear set of springs off of my FHC if you are local to Kent?

Not sure how efficient they are, or how old, but the seemed ok before I removed them and swapped them out.

you are more than welcome to them.

Wow, quick responses, thanks guys. I don't know if they are the same as the A-frame setup, maybe someone else does?
I'm in Leeds West Yorks.

By the way Wyn, nice vid via your profile. Who is leading?

Update: Wedg1e says the springs are almost certainly the same between suspension types. When are yours coming out Wyn? Anything in the car's history to give us an idea how old they are?

Stu, I'll pay postage if you can send them up to me. We need to be able to shift the car around, so even if they are a bit tired they are a useful stop-gap. thumbup

Rog, I've got a pair of fronts and a pair of rears from an A frame wedge. I'm down in Sheffield.

Well my buddy Rob happened to be down in Sheffield last week while Kath and I were scaling some peaks in Andorra and collected a full set of springs from Steve (convert). Many thanks Steve! Next job: shot blast and dye penetrant test for cracks, then all being well, off to the powder coaters! thumbup

I have plenty of dye pen chemicals if you get stuck whistle
However this won't reveal sub-surface defects, would you like a mag particle unit too biggrin
If you want to go the whole hog, I can give you a contact up at AETC, sure they could x-ray them for you hehe

OK OK. Maybe I'll just scrape the rust off, slap some hammerite on, fit 'em, and bounce on the corners to see if any break. hehe

You're more than welcome Rog. I hope that they're OK for you.

I only changed them because I got a good deal on a race spec set from Mr Thorpe.

They won't break, have you seen the cross-section of wedge springs compared to modern cars'?

I'm still trying to work out how mine came to be in 3 pieces each when we dragged the old girl out of the lockup. They seemed ok when I last reversed her in there. scratchchin
