My 1987 Wedge 280i won't start and i suspect the Cold Start Valve Relay is faulty as there is no power getting to the Valve or Thermotime switch. Does anyone know where i can buy a Relay or any tests to determine if it is faulty.

What kind of temps are you getting there? I didn't think it did anything (or should be doing anything above 40 degrees C. If it would be continuing to run I would suspect that it would still start. I actually don't have mine plugged in and have a solid bolt in place of the banjo bolt for the CS injector. What is the car doing? I would suspect the run/start relay before the cold start relay.

A 280 in decent shape should still start without the cold start injector.
But if the Aux air is also not working and it's a bit chilly......

The thermotime switch ops from the ignition key in the start position via the Safety module.
The uk model has an extra relay which pulses the injector but does NOT affect the 12v to the thermotime sw. So if you not getting the 12v at the Thermotime thingy you can ignore the impulse relay.
Unless of course you get 12v on the contact of the relay (but I guess you would already have seen that)

So...check fuses 1 & 2
Check lift plate is not sticking.
Tap the safty module, then with a lamp on the Thermo T Sw look for 12v while trying to start
Or just get a new 5 pin safety mod. It's just a relay.

Then clean your AAD as I suspect that's not been working for a while.

Thanks for the advice, where is the safety module located?
