It was on there for quite a while, just wondering what it went for?

I bought it, guess it was a good deal, paid less than the asking price.

It's one of the very rare automatic FHC 2+2.
It stood there for a long time, so typical problems came up;
Seized brakes, injection system needs cleaning (typical K Jetronic), cracked tires, electrical problmes (black wired carmad)

I'm planning to replace the engine with a tuned Ford 2.9 c/w 4-speed automatic box.
For this reason I"m looking for a 3.54:1 differential.
Also on the list is a LHD modification, new electrics, new leather interior, respray, better brakes, new wheels & tires (someone looking for the original 14" wheels?)...

Well done.

Glad it was saved and has gone to a good home, it seems like a lot of wedges are making their way across to the continent!

I did look at it in Jan this year and to be honest, it was too much of an unknown for me at the time, so of course I bought one that ended up needing work anyway..... because its a TVR!

Good luck with it, and it is very rare being both 2+2 and auto!

Hi Willy smile

Good luck with the car.

What diff ratio has it got now ?
3.54 was normally the standard diff, though I realise this may have been changed on an auto model.

I'm sure one of the Racers has a spare 3.54 diff for sale.

The 280i has originaly a 3,07:1 diff ratio. This is oke with its small tires and a 1:1 gearbox ratio. But I want to mount bigger tires and an gearbox with overdrive.
My 350i has an 3,54:1 diff, so that's the one I'm looking for.
(it's also fitted to older Jaguar 3.4 litre and some 4.2 litre)

3.07 could be a sought-after diff over here, especially for those with big power V8s and looking for better economy. smile

Too right. Brasses me off no end that at 80mph my V8 is spinning at about 3000rpm, exactly the same as the 1.8 diesel in my Connect van... irked

Yes, used to find the same with mine versus the MGZS diesel...on which I've just replaced the MAF sensor (well known to be short-lived) and seemingly regained about 25bhp. eek
