They have not used any kits Ian has striped back to chassis, strengthened and welded all new suspension carriers. He has modified the bottom suspension arm to carry the coil over.

As I have posted many times, there is no need to remove the tunnel cover and dash, cut the chassis and make a remote linkage if you get the right T5 box in the first place. The Sierra Cosworth box has the remote at the end and this fits perfectly with the old LT77 position.

Sort out the bellhousing, propshaft, etc and the Cossie T5 fits.

i have a t5 cossie box but after a lot of discusion with lots of so called experts, we all agreed the cossie box was inferia compaired to the tvr. We looked at changing the rear of the chimp box with the cossie box but would have to change the drive shaft and main gear so lets just go TVR wats a few mods when people know how to take on a challenge!!!!!

I've just changed the tail shaft on a TVR box for one of the LS conversions I'm doing. Cost around £175 mark including buying the tail and selector shaft. The main shafts etc don't change. It is literally unbolt the tail end and selector and swap over.

As for the TVR box being stronger... not really that is a problem for a Rover V8. Many of the Tasmin racers went Cossie box because of the ease of fitment and I was running around 500lb/ft through one before I snapped fifth and uprated it. I have the Cossie box that Joolz used on the turbo 24V Cossie V6 powered Tasmin as a spare. This box did a whole season with no problems and that engine was putting out around 400 bhp. The O/P shaft is the same as the LT77 box so that is also a big help.

Although the Sierra Cossie box is often referred to as being a weaker box, it is still immensely strong. It's just that the early American versions got some bad press and that has drifted down as all non-WC boxes are made out of chocolate... The TVR boxes are nothing special - just straight forward WC T5 boxes. Usually. TVR did nothing to them. Sometimes, the TVR "specially uprated" box is actually a non-WC which makes a bit of a mockery of the whole situation.

Anyway, you're the guy paying the bill...

Alan, tried to email you earlier but either your email is down or I have the wrong address as it just keeps bouncing back. Hope you don't mind me posting here but I know you are keen to be kept up to date on progress.

Finally finished your new rear wing. The laser cut brackets look fantastic! Didn't have time this afternoon to remove the crappy TVR boot spoiler to do a trail fit but all is looking good for tomorrow as promised. I have left the red protective plastic covering on the wing for the time being so the carbon fibre doesn't get scratched. Just got to tidy up the end plates in the morning and I can bolt them on.

Hope you like it mate.

Sorry about the picture quality.
