12"/305mm on my back lawn, except where I've cleared it for the poor little birdies.

No buses in York.
My boy walked the 3 miles home from college. I TOLD him to wear a hat and coat.
Been and stocked up with food for a couple of weeks.
Daily driver in garage. That's it now.

About 16" in Hadfield, -2 deg C, windy and drifting. Getting about OK in the Hilux though. Got to go to Durham tomorrow night for Tom Stewarts Funeral on Friday morning. Hope the roads aren't too bad. All Pennine routes from here are closed so it looks like a detour over the M62........Hmmmm nice
Here in the south east we only had a stingy 4-5" although more is on its way tonight and tomorrow,Lows of -6 overnight..Sunny friday..Then four days of rain..Dont know about the worst winter for thirty years unless this is just a taster and more will arrive end of december and stay for 2 months..I definately remember worst winters then this...
I said to Katie this am that she can say she had a good 8" last night, cue blank look before the penny dropped and a telling off followed. But the lass has done well clearing the drive for the last 3 days, claimed it was so I could get on the drive until I pointed to the BFO Jeep, truth be told it was for her Clio. Next job for Katie is clearing all the snow she has stuck infront of the garage door, no access to the the wedge, hope its not missing me too much !!!
Wasn't too bad in Maidstone, Kent until last night.
After I got home from work around 6-ish it snowed steadily until at least 3am (I was still awake then), and hasn't stopped all morning too.
I didn't attempt to get the Wedge out in it, a colleague with an Impreza picked me up this morning, there were plenty of abandoned cars on the hill on our way to work!

Hampshire south coast has a good covering (4-5 inches), it fell most of the night from about 8pm yesterday and still falling lightly now. Most roads are OK but can't get my car out due to living on a steep hill which is not worthy of gritting hence snow covered and very slippery.
Wouldn't risk the wedge in this anyway, its tucked up snuggly in the garage with the heater on!

You will be lucky Dave most of the roads are near to being closed in Hartlepool. Durham is 12 miles away from here and you can bet your bottom dollar that if its bad here it will be three rimes as bad up there. Good Luck !!!Dix
