Well got the engine & gearbox back in today. Used a load leveller and found the easiest way of getting the ening and gearbox in was to have the engine crane placed diagonally over the front wing instead of the very front. That way I had loads of room with plenty of movement whilst adjusting the leveller in stages.

Doing this job represents another milestone in Wedge ownership for me which just goes to show that the Wedge is a great car to work on if you know what your're doing with a little help from those in the know who have gone before.

Thanks for the tips guys....

You did not want to try my surfing method then.

Nice Job though, esp in this weather.

Yeah - I surfed it in but got a much better result with the crane placed diagonally across the engine bay as the jib was easily moved in out to where it needed to go. A 2 ton crane with a jib reach of 1.6m is enough to do the job with a leveller. The fact I did it on my own is satisfying too..

Nice one, but you do need to people to do the surf method, as one of you will be standing ontop of the engine, to work as the leveller/angler
