Interesting, but why doesn't he just finish it, if there's so little needed ?
Nail. On head.
Needs the money?
Loss of garage?
Ill Health?
Moving Home?
Divorce?
Lack of ability?
We know it's too dear, and so does he. That's why it's on ebay. And its why the price is coming down, 'cos he can't sell it.

He has a bid of £2,650!
In fairness, and in my rather biased opinion as an owner of a 350I convertible, I think these rare cars are currently a little under-valued.
I'm not expecting prices to suddenly go crazy and allow me to retire, but I do think that just maybe the prices will go up in the future and nice cars will start getting collectable.
Probably, as with my Mini 1275GT, my Capri 2.8I, my Sierra XR4I and my 2-door Mk2 Escort, this will happen just after I sell mine!

It's not advertised on the classifieds here
It's here he's got it up for £3250.Edited by pacman1 on Monday 27th December 20:31
As a point of interest I have asked him what he's done or not done. Well it's not had a chassis off resto or a full mechanical one! The problem I can see is what works left! Trim work i.e. head linning etc, refit all the glass, plus a few mechanical ones like the engine doesn't run, needs new fuel lines. I could go on but I think the price (e-bay) is as high as it needs to be with the work left to do!
Andy
Erm, well, I royally fecked that up. Twice. Not only did I misread the bid as a buy it now price, but I had it in my head that the thread link I posted up was to an old ebay advert, but didn't check it. Doh.
Abject apologies to all, including the seller for not checking my facts properly.
eta A quick check this morning shows my drinks cabinet was raided last night. Mainly wine missing plus an awful lot of Bacardi.
No sign of forced entry either, and since it's only me here I fear the two incidents may be linked.
I'm off now to check the rest of last night's thread contributions from me for further errors.
Merry Christmas.

As long as I've owned wedges (coming up 16 years I think) I've heard this line and all they've done is depreciate - or at best, maintain similar prices. I paid £2250 for my Tasmin, I don't think you'd pay much different for one now (though I suspect probably less for a scruffy one). Even after all the work I put in over 5 years, chassis repairs, unleaded engine, £800 respray etc., all I could sell it for (and it took a year to sell) was £2250.In fairness, and in my rather biased opinion as an owner of a 350I convertible, I think these rare cars are currently a little under-valued.

I can never get used to the fact that wedgers seem to want to talk the value of these cars down!
Seems to me that while ever people are saying they're not worth anything they won't be worth anything?
Some of us are realists. If you buy a wedge thinking you'll have a good time then fine. Buy one thinking it's an investment and... well you may as well put your money in an Icelandic bank. Across the board, prices are falling. My boss and his mate have this year between them bought a '64 Morgan, a big Healey and an MGA plus three old Brit bikes, because they're cheaper than they've been for years. Why should wedges be any different?

The only way people pay top whack (like, say ten grand for the 350SX at HHC) is because they absolutely HAVE to have it irrespective of cost. People with too much money keep the motor trade afloat

Spotted this earlier..If anyone is going to make him an offer for godsake tell him to stop driving it or it will end up with all the problems i had as the fuel tanks are probably rotten for a start..I might just send him an email..cheers..zig

I missed that. Think I'd best bin the engine from my 390 and fit his instead.
