My dash had the usual cracked veneer around the clocks and center console and since I hate wood trim in my cars I decided to change it a few months ago and thought I would share it with other Wedge owners as It seems to be a common problem. I used 3M self adhesive carbon look sheets and it actually has a grain through it so it looks and feels better than the usual stuff you get in Halfrauds. I used a hot air gun to soften the veneer and adhesive and it peeled off without too much effort then cleaned off the left over glue with wire wool. I was then a straight forward process of cutting a sheet a little larger than the panel to be covered then stick the film to the panel. After its filmly stuck down take a sharp blade and trim around the edges and cut out the holes for the switches and clocks etc. Refit to car and job done.

I know its not everyones cup of tea but I like it and it cost around £30 for a metre square and I still have enough left to use elsewhere.

Hello mate....A job well done sir..Although im not a lover of cream leather but looks good..I was contemplating it myself as i have a black leather dash but there is only a tiny bit on my veneer that has cracked so i might leave it..Plus im not that steady with a knife..I always tend to slip no matter how sharp or new the blade..Ziga

PS;Had to change what i said previously as not to sound derogatory..

If you mean the metal plate that has the veneer then Brute force!!

It's glued on so I pulled it off whilst holding the leather/vinyl in place then I used epoxy glue to stick down the parts of leather that had seperated from the wood then more Glue to attach the newly trimmed cover back on. It was a bit of a risk just pulling it off but once it was all back together you cant tell it's been off. It did rip the leather/vinyl under the plate so you have to be quite carefull or you will be looking for a new glovebox lid.
