A BIG thanks to Carob, the car looks and handles awesome now.

Loads of work done, just the minor 'full respray' and to get rid of the yellow stripe.
Then the wiring of course..

Any sugestions on stripe colour, if any?

Thin stripes to match interior colour is what I would do.

No stripe gets my vote....distracts from and does not go with the modern looking alloys.

I think I'd agree with that.

You get a 'line' on the bodywork anyway, but more subtle.

When did you sell your 280 Graham? Who's got it these days?
I see on the DVLA website the tax isn't due until Feb 2011 so it's still in use.

Sorry for going OT. Hallsie I'd go with no stripe on you car. It's getting better every time we see it!

The guy who bought her from me back in 2005 still has her, and in fact got in touch not long ago.
So all is well, happy to say. smile

I seem to remember he was from Nottingham area, but don't think he's a PHer.

Funnily enough, those OZs above were the last ones to stand on my drive too. smile

They're 15 x 8 rears and fronts are 15 x 7 or 7.5

It does look good without the stripe,

Unfortunately, despite using a little heat to soften the stripe, a bit of paint came off with the stripe on the front wing.
So, as the car was resprayed at some point in Ford Mecury grey, I think Ill try and get a stripe of the same colour to cover up the missing paint strips!

Shouldnt be too hard, eh!!?

That works well on bold and dark colours but I think that for lighter colours it will be lost.

Some proper see-through ones here...but not so impressive if you've got an oily old lump of scrap under it. hehe
