Hi Mate..I believe that if you are getting steamed up front screen that could well be a leaking heater matrix..Ive had that in old cars in the past..I was getting misted up gauges in the Tiv but when i put it on screen vents there was no misting on the screen..Cheers..Zig

Poke ya fingers around where centre console meets transmission tunnel and all around that area coz mine was leaking and damp could be felt in that area but no smell early on, rotted the carpet for me though. Only started to smell when it had been standing unused for a while.

Mine had a leak so investigated and found the hose was leaking so fixed that and put back together and found the matrix was also leaking. It's why I can now get the dash off in about 20 minutes.

The brown on the wires was from the hose and the sludge on the transmission was the matrix. If it starts misting up as soon as the engine warms then probably water inside the heater evaporating. Was about £65 5 years ago to have it recored.

Yup just starts steaming when the engine gets warm then stops after a while.

Maybe water is getting in through the air intake on the bulkhead in engine bay and once warmth from the engine gets to it,it sets it.
