Where is the place you love to stretch the wedge's legs the most.

I love the roads around Ripon, Leyburn, and Richmond in the Yorkshire dales only 40 miles up the road from Gods country Hartlepool.

Lots of nice countryside round your way...Seal Sands, where you can watch REAL Seals...and a great fast driving road between there and Billingham smile

Thought that was KGB then...hehe, but no, I've led a mixed life of working overseas as a tunneller and heavy plant operator, and back here as an Energy Efficiency Surveyor, so have to keep up the certification. smile

They've changed things now on the plant ops side so you have to put minimum hours in anyway to keep your ticket...otherwise I'd probably be working now...apart from the problem of being a single parent that is. rolleyes

No mate, and it's the travelling and working away that's the problem otherwise I'd be working overseas now anyway.

The ex left me our boy to look after, lovely lad as he is, it means I'm limited now.

What do you need doing...new channel tunnel ? Airstrip in yer garden ? hehe

Airstrip, I wish!

Theres a lot of work opening up on some new water treatment works both fresh and sewage in the next few months and the civils will be starting around march, I might have been able to get you a start of some sort!
Ill look and see if we have anything starting in the 'tea drinking area' and if anything comes up Ill let ya know!

How old is the boy??
They still do chimney sweeping!!

Cheers mate.

Have to stay put up here, as my boy is 17 and doing his A-levels, so someone needs to be around to supervise. His mother lives in Sweden.

Mate of mine works for Entec, they do lots of water & sewage civils... he trained as a mining engineer in Cornwall, just in time for all the mines to close rolleyes

Still, where there's sh!t, there's brass wink

Edit: the A696 from Newcastle airport up over the border to Jedburgh is a good road for leg-stretching of anything with wheels and a modicum of power, but keep it under your hat or they'll all want a go wink
Hang a left just before Jedburgh, meander over the tops and land in Penrith to make a nice circular route, if you're in Tees, Wear or Tyneside - or Durham or N. Yorks!

I worked with a few ex-Cornish mining engineers on a 23km x 4.6m sewage tunnel in Hong Kong.
There's usually a fair bit of work for them overseas...most likely China these days. smile

Oh, and also the Goldmines etc in Western Australia are supposed to be well-paid as long as you don't mind living in the middle of nowhere for months on end (but good for saving up smile).

I was thinking of having the name of that Welsh railway station tattooed on my todger.

scratchchin

But I couldn't remember the spelling of 'Rhyll'... whistle

I remember discussing it with this Rasta guy once: he whipped his old man out to show me his tattoo: it said "Wel".

I said "Wel"?

He grinned and said "Yeah man. When the ladies are around him say 'Welcome to Jamaica'..."
