......under the carpet........

What is that under the carpet fibrous stuff in the footwell - I took the carpet out from the drivers side cos it was catching on the throttle. My heels have now dug into it a little - must get a rubber mat!

It's a bit like soft MDF with a black seemingly like paper cover / finish to it. Where can I get some?

Leven do a metal plate that sits on the carpet under your heels. On my shopping list at the moment.
