Hi peeps..I have been racking my brains searching every site i could find but to no avail..I managed to find the headlight switch which was quite easy (TR7) but cannot find the others(MK1 Escort)although when searching i found some from the RS and they looked perfect as they had a chrome bezel edge and would of plugged straight in only they are rarer than rocking horse poo..Ive now come to the conclusion that iam going to have the metal plate re-cut with new holes for new switches..A very kind fella is sending me a piece of veneer that is big enough for my centre console..I am aware that the new switches will need to be re-wired to a different plug unless anyone knows of a site where i can get a replacements for..Hazards..Fog..Fan..Also the housing that holds it all might need re-doing as its a piece of moody plastic...Cheers..Zig

Mk 1 Escort? None of the switches came from there as far as I know - the heater controls did though - in fact although it's a looooong time since my dad scrapped his Mk 2 Escort van I think that may have had the same heater controls too.

See if you can find some pics of the wedgy Austin Princess/Ambassador, I can't recall what the switches on those were like, may have been like the Ford rockers, maybe not.

Believe it or not, and I really must get out more... there are two different versions of those BL switches; the ends of the rockers are either smooth, or ribbed (for extra pleasure, I imagine biggrin ).
I'm sure they were used on a couple of other cars as well, but my memory's not what it was. Not Jaguar XJ6 and not the Rover SD1, for starters...

ETA Oh FFS... Lotus wedges used them.

I think i need to get out more too! my LSUK (Lucas)catalog i purloined a few years ago lists the ribbed type as Lotus esprit and TVR350. The Tr7 type are identical apart from l acking the arousal, sorry, ribbed effect.. I know, cos i had a root around in a Tr7 in a scrappy a few years back..

For my input - I'm dumping my old switches and going for something more robust and reliable plus they illuminate. If I get the veneer sorted I'll post some pics.

I was thinking the same purely as im having a difficult time locating all the ones i need..Headlight switch..ok..hazard..ok..fan..?..fog..?..I have found ones slightly smaller so i will need to get a new plate cut..Which is probably the best route as the old one is a moody fit and that plastic housing that holds it leaves a lot to be desired..I have a fabricator round the corner who is fairly reasonable so i might have a word with him..Cheers..Zig

Same design of column stalks as well (although the mounting plate is probably different)... and the main beam & indicator lamps look familiar too! biggrin
