350 Brake Pads... Part No's required
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I need a set of front brake pads for my 1986 S2 350i. However, it has the Tower View 300mm Kit with AP 4 pot calipers.
This thread has a useful discussion on the friction material and manufacturers...

Can anyone provide some actual part numbers for the AP fitment and hopefully suggestions on stockists. I spent a couple of hours on t'internet yesterday trying to find someone with stock that I could trust, which didn't originate in the PRC.
I'm not looking for noisy race pads, which are staggering at the 2nd press of the pedal, just something that works hot or cold and doesn't trash the disks in the process.
Regards (and Happy New Year)

If your not sure what the part numbers are for current pads i would take one out, take ot to a local factors and they should have a book of pad shapes 1 to 1 size and find your pad.
Im a big fan of mintex 1144 and run them all round as they give good stopping power from cold, low noise and they are dont rag disks like some other makes of pads when you have to consider the cost of replacing disks.

A Couple of years ago I had the wedge in a local garage for MOT and said just check front pads think they must be about in need of a change, and they were, so with the wedge taking up the only ramp space they ordered some, which took two days to get, and didnt fit. they not happy as car still on ramp, I checked my history file I got with the car 5 years ago and found the part numbers for EBC Greenstuff pads the previous owner had fitted, garage ordered some came next day, didnt fit! My fault as I had not noticed a bit later in the history file the previous owner had totaly changed upgraded the front brakes, (didnt tell my garage that bit).
So took a photo of the pads that came out and traced the front and back of the pads on a bit of A4 and faxed it to the Brake people who got it right that time
6 days on the garage ramp.
