I grew up on Farrah Fawcett with her spray paint and that cat suit. Funny them noises dont sound like a Lambo any more they sound just like a TVR!

That is correct but that definition is the girls one..The mans one is Zigazagaaahhh..Which means more than four girls being done in a zig zag combination..If you see the original video baby spice was meant to sing that bit but she forgot the words,,Ginger had to do it but she was being a bit of a lezza..

When I were younger, driving a Mk2 Escort, 1300cc which could do 90 flat out, over taking was easier back ten (20 years ago) as less traffic, but also much harder due to having no power.

My pal and I had done a bit of a mix tape, which included the opening music (and therefore the engine noises too) of Cannonball Run 1 and 2

Over takes in the Escort were done with planning in advance, dropping back, building up speed to coincide with the gap in oncoming traffic to get past the car in front.

Out driving one day, heading up towards blackpool with the mix tape on... an overtake opportunity was coming up but I delayed it to coincide with the gorgeous sounding accelerating noise from the Cannonball music.

Okay so we nearly hit a car head on, but the car we passed was a bit confused as a little Escort screamed past with a V8 sound track on the stereo at full whack smile

aaaaaaaaaaaah memories.

Hot chicks. Fast cars.

I didn't pass my test until 1990, but this movie and Smokey and the Bandit and a few others made me the car nut/bore I am today. A-team, Fall guy, Night Rider, Air Wolf, Street Hawk, BJ and the Bear, Magnum, Professionals oh and who can forget Terry McCann in Minder, anyone remember the x-pack mk2 RS2000 in Arthurs car lot in the starting credits. Bet that got u all thinking eh

Memories. TV just aint the same anymore.

Not sure they'd get away with 'BJ' these days... whistle

I recall most of the titles although I'm sure I never saw most of them, my dad controlled the telly and he was a BBC man. Do remember Colonel Steve Austin though biggrin
I think they made a British version of it but due to NHS cutbacks they couldn't afford the bits and ended up with Colonel Steve Hawking. paperbag

My old man was a 'greaser' back in t'60s and in the days of hybrid bikes (Tritons, Norvils etc), he put a BSA A10 Road Rocket engine in an AJS frame and duly painted "BJ'S" on the tank wink

Back on topic - as a man turned 40 a few weeks back, I remember that opening scene very well! I also remember wanting to grow up to be like the 'Bandit', but there's not much moonshine running in Kent...

My French teacher at school was enquiring if my dad could respray her orange Mini for her: in a moment of verbal dyslexia I said "Yes Miss, I'm sure he could give it a quick blow-job for you". I meant blow-OVER, of course, but much hilarity ensued.
