The hub bearing was easy ! but the coil was bust !! So I need either a used one or two new ones. I'm taking the other side apart as the grease in the failed side was 22 years old and dead, so the other side will be the same. Any ideas for springs..any track cars with surplus coils ?? It's a 2.8i convert 1992 by the way.
What advantage to going up to BBW spec? I'm leaving shocks alone....This was supposed to be my cheep car! I'm off to Oz on the London to Sydney Marathon in Junne (for the third time ) in a (don' laugh ) Suzuki Ignis Sport !!!! Previous two were in Lotus Cortina Mk 2's...And we made it both times.So keeping costs down is a bit critical !! But a pair of new 'uns sounds right.

If keeping standard shocks - standard springs are probably best. I just think the 280/350's feel a bit soft so putting 400 springs on mine but I can wind my Koni's up 15% to match.

I'm glad that you're sorted but this thread doesn't seem to make sense: for V8 wedges the first were 350 springs, then 390 (shorter and stiffer), then 400 (both stiffer, usually, than the 350 and longer than the 350). It's easier to talk about spring rates. With a wedge you're always going to feel the bumps in the road - if you don't want that then buy a Jag - so go for a spring rate that handles well, how about 250lb/in at the front and 200 at the rear?
