"IMPROVES BHP TO ABOUT 240 BUT DRAMATICALLY INCREASES THE TORQUE WHICH IS VERY NOTICABLE WHEN DRIVING. (GREAT JOB AND HAS DONE NO MILES SINCE!)"

:snigger:

ETA:
He's at it with his Eclat too:

"PERFORMANCE FROM ITS 170bhp ENGINE (NON TURBO) IS STILL ACCEPTABLE TODAY"

I'm sure it would be, however even in 912 form as fitted to the Esprit, the twincam was only ever claimed by Lotus to make 160bhp.

possibly he found that when it was leaded he sometimes had difficulty seeing where he was going, the outline of a multicoloured flower is quite hard to see through,so he just had it unleaded and rose tinted,it also looks like he had it sprinkled with Fairy Dust, now where`s my marbles.smile

there was a big market in converting engines to unleaded when unleaded fuel disappeared, even though those engines had been unleaded friendly from their construction...i remember in my "old" times driving alfa-romeo (full alloy engines with steel valve seats) where the spare-parts catalogues stated "unleaded heads" for a tremendous price...precarious owners bought them..mechanical minded owners left them on the shelf...and the supliers made good money!!!
