Had a look in the 'Bible' and it says almost nothing about replacing the rubbers in the door window channels and a forum search hasn't turned up anything. Has anyone done it and can recommend the best method ie: the easiest, least time consuming etc. Is it simply a case of removing the guides or can the glass be lifted out and the rubbers fitted in-situ.

TIA
Mike

The best way to do the guide rubbers is to remove them from the door.

Sorry about that its a far bit of work, but not that hard!

Hi Andy

How long should I allow each side do you think? Cars got to live outside for a few days and don't want to be left with a window out overnight. Going to be good weather tomorrow and as I'm not working at the mo, thought I'd have a go. Got the rubbers.

About an hour per door to get the runners out. It then depends how well the existing rubbers are stuck in! Then the reverse to get them back in. After that around an hour to adjust. So it can be done in a day no problem! Unless you decide to repaint the runners etc then two days!

In my experience the rubbers are only wedged in, no adhesive involved.

The greater issue might be corrosion around the bottom of the runners...

Success, well one side anyway. Went surprisingly well. No corrosion at base of runners. Just second one to do tomorrow.

Does anyone know what car the mechanism came from. Works fine but it's a little sloppy. Or maybe they're all like that?

Thanks for your help all
