The question is Bees. I see loads of products with Honey on them ie Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and it got me wondering how do they collect enough Honey or is it a Fake Laboratory concoction that they use? Is it just loads of smaller Bee keepers selling a 40gallon drum at a time? or is there some mass factory farming of Bees?

Was that from one producer? if more than one, how many and what quantity did the largest Bee keeper produce? How many Bees to produce that quantity?
Lastly 14,000 tonnes is not a "Sun" standard unit of measurement. Needs to be in Double Decker Busses, Football Pitches or Blue Whales.

Well going by this its not much at all..The average bee only lives for 6 weeks..
According to the Honey Association, the average honey bee will actually make only one twelfth of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime.
Perhaps we need to invent a potion that makes them 10 times the size..That would be the bees knees..hehe

I saw a program once about a chap in America who had lorries full of bees and farmers would pay him to come and let them out in their fields to pollinate the crops. He was sort of a 'bee pimp' - can't remember what he did with the honey though. Does that help?

My bees average about 500 pound of honey a year and it takes a bit of work getting honey supers off and spinning the honey out then filling 30 pound bucket which I use to store before I filter and the jar it up into one pound jars, it’s not a hobby for everyone but I get a buzz out of itbiglaugh.I harvest the honey twice a year.
As someone has said a honey bee on average lives about 6 week in the summer month but can live long in winter, I think the record for a queen bee is around 7 years.

Crunchy nut cornflakes contain 1.5% honey, so a 100g serving contains about 1.5g of honey, or a third of a teaspooon.

So your bowl of cornflakes worked four bees to death - think on that, Neil!!!
