Windscreen Washer Bottle - What's It From?
Discussion
Hi Mate..If you have no joy with finding another washer bottle then this stuff is quite handy..I sealed up my expansion tank with it and its good for most things..If its a small leak i have a small amount left that should do it..even if you find another washer bottle fix that one and you will have a spare..Cheers..Mark

I also have a leak in mine, around where it fits to the bracket.
A top tip I use is to get a tin of evostik and pour some of the liquid glue into the dry washer bottle. Swirl the washer bottle around so the evostik produces a lining and when dry it seals the leak extending the life of your bottle.

I see, that gives me somewhere to start from, thanks Wedg1e!
No worries. I moved my pump (same style as yours) up to the side of the footwell, near that big rubber grommet where the fuel inejction loom exits the cabin, and put a non-return valve in the washer pipe... that way the water doesn't drain back to the tank and the pump isn't sitting in a puddle of water every time it rains.Hmm - the pump is there for a reason - despite the non-return valve you put in (actually the pickup was supposed to have one anyway on the end along with the strainer) you might find your pump might airlock. In the TVR original position at least there's a mild siphoning action that helps keep air out of the pipework.
If you're replacing the tank and don't mind not having an original then a better solution would be a tank with a builtin pump or pump pickup near the bottom of the tank, which is a much better design. Ebay should throw up a few...

Take your point but it hasn't done so in the last ten years

Martin - these guys do a whole heap of parts for kitcar builders and are on the road from Marden to Staplehurst (nice and close!). You might get one from there that will fit with a bit of thought

The TR7 has exactly the same washer bottle. You can still get S/H ones from TR7 specialists eg www.ss-preparations.co.uk
