Went to bleed the clutch the other day. Opened the nipple and had my trusty assistant press the pedal. No fluid to be seen and clutch still operating. Nipple removed and checked to be clean. OK so time for the easy bleeder. Set the kit up with a 25 PSI pressure and opened the nipple back up. Still no fluid and the clutch was still operating as per normal. WTF.

Eventually out of desperation I removed the nipple and slowly pushed a small screwdriver through the nipple hole into the slave cylinder. After about 5MM of insertion (yes with the screwdriver!) the fluid was pissing out like a good un. Obviously years of crud had blocked the internal exit area of the slave unit. Just thought I'd post this in case others find the same problem.

Regards Andy.

Bottle the contents of your bleed container, stick it on E -Bay as original Blackpool (TVR) clutch fluid.

Good one. BTW what type of clutch fluid did you top up with?

Just stuck with good old DOT 4. Thought about 5.1 but I had a gallon of 4 sitting around.
