Hot off the press..just got this email via South wales TVRCC:-

Hi all

Following recent postings on Pistonheads and Egroups concerning Power and Passion event at Cardiff.

I have had a telephone call 7th May 2004 with Simon Lacey the Chairman of the TVRCC as a result of this call I no longer wish to remain RO of the South Wales TVRCC as I do not believe my position is tenable and we have a difference of opinion.

Thank you all for your support

This now leaves The South Wales Region RO less. So if you fancy it please contact the TVRCC as I no longer wish to communicate with them.

Steve Parker

OOH URR Havent got a clue what its about but i thought you all should know.

Seems to me that it's P&P that's being slagged off. One phrase from a single about (presumably) BBWF and containing the word(s) "mish mash" [sic] - meaning a "confused mixture" does not an argument make and there is little point in provoking one ourselves (IMHO). I also can't see what the TVRCC Chairman might find upsetting in S27's posts ... maybe something(s) have been deleted, or the TVRCC's Chairman is hyper-sensitive - S

Reckon it's one about respect and support for each other but also about how we can shape events, one way or another, by our actions or inactions. Attitudes can evolve, positively, to make tvrcc stronger, and with care for each other as people, not just as minders of lumps of metal

It's all this middle east thing - I've had enough of violence

Ok i may have over reacted in defence of our little community of mish-mash cheap old Wedges.

The gist of the RO's reasons for resigning is the total lack of involvement of the local region and the cost of the event.

The emails are still coming in defending his position.
And there is a lot of talk about becoming an independant group of enthusiasts. Sounds a bit like us!

Anyway i'm off to fit me new plugs, magnecores and air inlet pipe (thanks Tim).Armed with the knowledge gained from THIS GREAT forum

dickymint - I fear you are mis-stating things: the poster didn't refer to "cheap old Wedges" or "old Wedges" or "cheap Wedges". The "cheap" referred to the event - when compared to the cost of P&P ... about which the "rant" was originally posted (IMHO) - Streaky

PS - the topic now can't be found! - S

I stand corrected Streaky (beer in brains out syndrome).

Are you also aware that the spare parts list for Chims and S's has also been removed from the South Wales region site??!!! By request from the Chairman!!

Should point out , in no way was I slagging of P&P , in fact both MrsH and I will probably attend in both cars .
What we objected to was the BBWF being referred to as a "Mish mash" by such a newbie who obviously only recently woken up to the joys of TVR ownership

Dare I ask( not logged on since sunday) what happened to the thread? Has peace returned to the valleys? (in real life, that is, rather than just an absence of news in cyberspace)
