This ain't directly wedge related but when its done I can consentrate on the beasty again. I have to replace front suspension top mounts on my Audi 100 2.6 and am wondering if I'll need a spring compressor or not, anyone have experience in this, cheers,John.

If you have a good library near you they might have the Haynes manual and you can have a free look.

Otherwise google the Audi forums ? smile

I don't have experience of that particular model of car, but I have had the front suspension apart on a great many make and models of cars and I would be quite amazed if you didn't need to use spring compressors to do the job.

I could be wrong, but I would count on the springs needing a squish!

I would agree, most need the spring compressors in place to remove the top bolt well for struts anyway.Best of luck.
