Will be illegal so you'll need a freindly MOT garage every year, especially as it will be one of the new 'highlights' for MOT testers to look out for.

You can get DIY kits from the likes of HIDs4U and convert2xenon.com.
Easy enough to fit, reduces the load on the car's existing wiring but all the foregoing applies; supposed to have self-levelling, special reflectors and lenses blah blah blah.

I have them on my bike... whistle

scratchchin You could always put HIDs in the driving lamps for those odd occasions when you REALLY need to throw a little light at the scenery...

No idea Jeff, mine haven't worked for most of the time I've had the car! The wiring had been chopped and butchered, I removed the butchery but didn't get round to restoring the original wiring.
What I did was to fit new reflectors and bulbs to the headlights, then made a new wiring loom from thicker cable that takes the current from the battery by the shortest route to the lights rather than three laps of the car as originally wired. The difference is remarkable, I can actually see where I'm going! biggrin
