You can afford a wallet??? I'm still saving up for one.I'm puzzled by the px on this lump though: an Indian motorcycle. Does he mean something like the RE Bullet made in India, or an Indian from the USA?

Leigh,
Anything special about using Chevy rods to stroke a RV8?
Would this be a 5L block (if there is such a thing) with slightly longer rods?

You can't change the stroke just by changing the rods, that's determined by the crank throws - ie the distance between crankshaft centreline and crankpin centres.Anything special about using Chevy rods to stroke a RV8?

Hi Mike,
The suns getting to me.
I should of realized it's not just a rod change.
Of course a wide variety of Chevy rods out there in the after-market so one could if one wanted to go for some stronger but lighter rods if necessary and at reasonable money stateside.
Thanks for your comments.

As said Chevy rods are cheaper and easier to source, plus you can use Chevy pistons.Anything special about using Chevy rods to stroke a RV8?

As for blocks there is only 2 types of block, large Journal and small journal, all large Journal are X-bolted, but you can get some small Journal X-Bolted, but they are rare.
Also there is the new cos-cast blocks, there are the same as the large journal ones, but just with a more accurate casting method used.
A 5ltr block is the same as a 3.9/4.0/4.6 etc just with a bit extra machine to remove some of the block to allow for the size of the 5ltr crank.
The Wild cat block is a Large Journal cos-cast block but with top-hat liners fitted at standard.
All the about is from memory so I could be wrong, or made small mistakes.
