280i Tasmin Racer
Discussion
Hi All
I normally lurk in the speedsix areas with my Tamora, but I've indulged in some wedginess and need a bit of help. Just bought a 1982 280i FHC which I'm planning to convert for racing. The first question is what are the right size wheels and tyres for this model, it's definetly got the wrong ones at the moment - certainly at the back which are rubbing on arches.
First jobs are to remove the Citreon CX GTI seats (anyone got a CX that needs some nice black leather seats?)and other heavy items such as the glass. But most important is the wheels - they've got to go.
I've a pretty good idea of what I need to do, but it would be great to hear from anyone else on here that runs a FHC racer.
Sorry for the crummy pic, I'll post some better ones at the weekend.

Greetings! If they're the 5-spoke OZ rims in 15" and the price is right I may well relieve you of them
Original rims were 7.5J (I think) x 14". By that time they'd have been the cross-spoke lattice style that you see on most cars, a bit like Rover SD1s of the time but different, if you follow.
Edit 'cos I is thick

The rubbing could just be worn bushings. If your looking for aftermarket wheels and have a voxx dealer over there they make the MG and MG2 in 15-17 which has an extra inch of widh and splits the stock offset nearly perfectly. They are quite light and look pretty good on a angular classic like the taz
Not sure what they are, but they're not Oz and they're not original to the car, so don't get too exited guys! And the car is the one that Dave Welton was selling. Graham, I'd be interested in any suitable wheels/tyres if you have anything suitable, although I'm keeping it road legal, it will only be run on the track.
