Had a few local trips with no issues then this morning about 80 miles into a run I start getting a miss-fire, really un-nerving as the car looses power for a fraction of a second and stutters. Can't drive through it and slowing down doesn't help - kept coming and going for about 5 miles. This is the second time this has happened, any one got any idea, places worth checking or had anything similar?

Cheers

Before checking the coil and leads why not check the engine bay at night to see if there are any shorts. Had a similar problem where a new set of leads did the trick. You could try pulling the plugs to see if it would identify the cylinder, replacing with a spare lead etc.Best of Luck

It feels like fuel starvation, not that I can be sure. Ran fine for 80 miles before it started this time, last time it was 30 ish miles but it seemed to stop after a while. Symptoms of fuel pump?

Had something like that, but not as bad.
There is a wire from the ignition amplifier that provides a signal to the ECU. Without it the engine gets no fuel.....
There is a bullet connector in this wire (on mine close to the airflow metering unit). I have cleaned, reconnected and taped it for security and no issues since.

John

If you don't sort it and it happens again!
Stop and put you hand on the coil, if it's very hot then that's your problem.
Things like this are usualy electrical in some form.
