Mine seem's to go up and down faster than a we's drawers could this be the sender in the fuel tank or gremmlins in the electrics, i normally try and gauge the mileage on the speedo per tank at the moment.

Is there not a resistor test for the sender to see if its stable in its readings.

They all do that sir; the instrument isn't damped so it responds to the slightest change in the float position. The shape of the tanks means that it's difficult to get a linear response from the sender: nothing much happens until the full gets to the sloping bottom part of the tank then it goes down disproportionately.

Rusty's are a good fuel substitute if you run out of petrol. But be carefull you might be needing a new clutch if you do!
