TVR 390SE -HIGH HOPES !
Discussion
Hi to all of the peeps out in wedgie land , just breaking the ice concerning a car I have recently
picked up , TVR 390SE silver REG - E260 HCK , does anyone have any memories of said beastie as it would be
interesting to hear if its in the good, bad or ugly camp! or maybe not ... mind you I am coming from many years
of keeping Alfas, Lancias etc on the road when they don,t particularly want to, so am used to a bit of heartache
along the way !!

Yeah I think theres an awful lot of BS talked by people who have opinions about TVR,s but have never
owned or actually driven one .. in fairness the Alfas and Lancias were pretty good just a bit of banter on my part,
lets put it this way , it wasnt heartache I felt yesterday when the revcounter hit 3000rpm and beyond , more like
palpatations... WHO NEEDS DRUGS !

They are nice wheels Rob, the only thing I,ve noticed is the depth of the hub mounting is wider than the original OZ'S when you look there doesn't appear to
be as much of the stud coming thru the wheel to attach the nut on , they are seated though and the nuts do locate fine but I'me thinking maybe longer studs ...? in which case it may be a hub off job ! unless anyone knows any different... this is on the rears by the way , nice to hear from you all the same .

It's a shame the previous owner didn't point out to you the problem with this car, it' a pretty serious problem as well. As soon as yours came up for sale a while back I recognized it as having this fault. I had a black 350se afew years ago that suffered drastically from it, I ended up getting rid.
Seems a lot of wedges suffer the same problem
.
Would probably cost about £2k to put right properly.

Hi guys , on the wheel stud problem front, I do have access to the original OZ's so
methinks they might be going on until I've completed my figureing, all part of the fun ... !
sure it'll all be worth it ..who wants a boring car anyway that doesn't let you get your hands a bit grubby !

If it has the original Granada hubs you can detach the hub, remove to a vice and, by judicious application of an uncalibrated tapometer, persuade the studs to exit their locations
New ones can be simply pressed (or clouted) in, as long as they have the requisite splined shank for location.
