Noise during clutch engagement
Discussion
Finished the wedge today after replacing the complete clutch and it needed a new flywheel as well. Went for a testdrive: chuffed to bits and the big grin
is back again.
All seems fine, but thought I heard sometimes a sort of a rattling noise I didn't know of jet... After some investigation during the drive it seems that with little throttle and engaging the clutch smoothly it appears for a second and then it stops. The sound is repetitive and like metal hitting on metal (not too loud be it can clearly be heard). Driving of in 3rd can make it a bit worse/louder. Hopefully nothing to worry about, but I ask just in case and don't want to break it and end up with all sorts of problems.
Difficult I know, but has anybody ideas what it could be or what I should look for?

Had a look and further tests and things seem not as bad as yesterday.
First thing up was that the release bearing didn't have enough play (was in constant touch with the pressure plate). Adjusted the slave position and that is fine now.
Several noises identified:
- Gearbox chatter in first. It always has done that.
- Exhaust hitting chassis tubes. Different to the past as I installed the stainless manifolds while the engine had to be taken out anyway.
- Remaining gearbox chatter is probably due to the input shaft. The box itself never has been 'quiet', but seems that planning for an overhaul end of this or next year has to be put on the list.
Fast road testdrive and really enjoyed myself
