Im understanding that they were closed today because of the strikes..

why did this happen? How can a road be closed ?

It caused chaos in Cardiff today!

I think the council monitor the CCTV in the tunnels, so probably closed on 'elf & safety grounds.

Christ its just a tunnel!! What is the world coming to when we are not allowed to drive through a tunnel without supervision!!

I couldn't believe the chaos it caused. I live pretty close and it's bad enough when they close it in the evenings for cleaning.

it's quite a fun sequence coming into the city. tunnel -> crest going slightly right -> sweep left on the nice wide open roundabout/junction -> then flick right on the tighter roundabout and a nice little left as you get onto the link road

I saw a Focus buried in the barrier and hedge on the noth ride of the roundabout once (as you head onto the large roundabout before entering the tunnel).

Not quite sure how he managed that, you'd have to be going a fair old speed to slide that much!

The traffic lights have been an unwelcome surprise on the roundabout ... just waiting for someone to have a big rear end shunt there - seen a few close shaves at rush hour

I left later than normal this morning and I had quite a shock when then lights were on. It's the first time I've seen them in use!
