Cardiff garages and labour rates

Am I right in thinking that independent garages in Cardiff all seem to charge near or around £50 an hour labour these days?

Does anyone happily use someone significantly cheaper?

I think I might have to invest in a haynes manual and some spanners!

£50-60 per hour seems to be the norm for an indie in Bridgend, Main dealers £75-110!

Perhaps I've not been paying attention but it seems to have gone up a fair bit in the last year or so.
