Hi All

My son is currently working hard at his GCSE’s, and when he finishes we have use of a lovely cottage in Llandovery. Likely the weekend of 12/13 July, including a few days either side.

I really want to make this a special time - he loves supercars - always spotting in London!

Any thoughts on any car type events, meets or activities would really be appreciated. Anything else not car related for a 16 year old would be good too.

Cheers!

There is a group on Facebook called Wales Classic Cars that is worth joining as they list up most events. Even if your not a Facebook person it is very good for this sort of thing.

What about booking a track experience or rally day to do on the sat or sun?

Most operators do packages for non driving age teens.

Go to the a4065 black mountain road which is near Llandovery and you’ll see many interesting cars.

Fantastic, I’ve already got a response from the organisers, so will definitely be doing this.

I wanted to take a run on to show him the roads used by reviewers and motor journalists - do you know which roads are used?

Thanks again.

A couple they use are the A4059 between Penderyn and the Beacons Resevoir and the B4560 between Garnlydan and Llangattock, which might be one to do either on the way there or on the way home.

There’s also the A4069 between Brynamman and Llangadog which I haven’t driven for a while but think it s now covered by average speed cameras.

And the A4061/A4107 between Treorchy, Nantymoel and Abergwynfi.

The A4059 is certainly a lovely road but always full of sheep you have to be so careful.
The B4560 I can take or leave to be honest, I just find it too short.
The A4107 is a must do for me,not driven it much though and only ever joined it from the Port Talbot end.
