Noticed this yesterday. I've seen they painted the lines a while ago and now they've added new barriers as well.

Question is though, is this a speed camera?, or a traffic light camera?, or both?

Its a small yellow camera on top of the usual tall grey pole.

There's a traffic light camera in Bridgend and there are no road markings for it as they are apparently for red light jumpers only. if there are road markings, that would suggest speed cameras.

I assume it's a traffic light camera. Strange thing is, I use that junction everyday, usually more than once, and I have never seen anyone jump the lights there. Complete waste of time and money.

That's the thing, nearly all the other traffic light cameras i can think of don't have road markings either.

Plus its a different type of camera - definately not listed here - http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/speed-camera-types.h...

I agree BB, i drive past that junction practically every day too and have never seen any sort of accident there. Makes you wonder why they've built those new barriers, its not like cars used to cross the central reservation there is it!

I have heard of accidents there in the past (with light jumpers) from a neighbour who works in Royal Glam so I imagine it's for that.

Mind you if that's the case the lights near Leekes needs something similar because I have seen and been involved in near misses where cars heading towards Capper go through when its only the left filter on green. Plus the lights seem to change very quickly when turning from Leekes side, go through on green and by time your on the straight the other lights are on green!!!

Its a dual camera.
When the lights are on red it acts as a traffic light gatso.
When the lights are on green it acts as a standard speed gatso (50mph!)
Heads up everyone!

For red light prosecutions, the photo shows the time the light was on amber, the time the light was on red and the speed of the vehicle although this has not been technically admissible as proof (though useful for those "it was too late to brake" clowns). I anticipate this may give the speed a basis for being admissible (but that's only a guess).
