Every few years, some component in the airing cupbard which seems to divert hot water to the tank or the radiators, seems to fail. In past years, it has tended to be the hot water that fails and it sticks on the heating. This year, it seems that the hot water is good but the radiators aren't heating up. I'm not entirely sure of it's function but it's also damned noisy but I think always has been, at least this one has. I think it needs a better quality one to be fitted.
The thermostat still clicks so I don't think it's that and the main controller seems to go on and off, so to all intents and purposes, the system seems to be working and as said, we have hot water so the boiler's working.
What I don't need is a clown who'll scratch his chin tell me I need a new boiler because that's not true either.
Obviously, reasonable rates are also required.
Anyone used someone good, local to Caerphilly?

We had this issue not so long ago.
As a temporary solution;
Find a box with a wire attached sitting on the outlet pipe of the hot water tank, take the casing off 2/3 screws and you can manually turn the valve. In our case it was using a screwdriver and simply turn the valve between 2/3 settings one of which will be hot water.
The part wasnt expensive and my dad fitted it, but he is pretty handy around the house.
