Yesterday we went into Naarwich when it was just a bit slushy, no real grip problems. Those arseholes that normally infest the A11 were all driving about the city at walking pace.

I'm normally pretty even tempered behind the wheel despite having to drive in Norfolk, but yesterday even I began to get hot under the collar.

Thankfully the outside lane of the A11 had quite a bit of slush on it so I could claim it as my own and thrash wrecklessly past (45mph) all the slowsters but once into the city I've never seen such a shameless display of feckwittery in my life...

The tragedy is that these imbeciles driving up hills so slowly "for safety" cause articulated lorries to wheelspin to a standstill behind them causing gridlock.

And then there's the 25mph merchants who flash their lights at you for having the audacity to overtake their slow motion "safety" blocade.

Jeez. I can almost see why there's roadrage.

Might be different today though if there's black ice. Probably those accidents were the same eejits who couldn't figure out a safe speed to be going at yesterday either.

I lost my rag this morning...

I was travelling at a very reasonable 20 mph given the conditions, I had just passed an ambulance scooping up a postman, and could see another police car rescuing one of his dog handler colleages cars coming up - but in stark contrast to the usual I had some stupid woman in her ka/fiesta? decide I was travelling way too slow for ice rink conditions and so overtook me past where the police cars had just crossed the central reservation.

I had already tried to warn her she was way too close to me by flashing my hazard lights at her once - the look on her face as it finally dawned on her that her car was effectively floating on a knife edge was a picture!!! She must have been asleep at the wheel for the proceeding couple of miles though

If she was dangerous I'd probably rather she was in front of me.

But the trouble with getting shirty with other road users -- hazard lights, flashing, braking randomly, distracting them when they're overtaking/past -- you is that you increase the likelihood of them having an accident and also if you're spending attention on that you're spending less on driving your own car safely.

Asehole? lol.

Actually you could be right. I was driving in a Fiat Doblo Diesel -- a car renowned for its superlative racecar like handling and grip so I suppose I should have tolerated the walking pace merchants who were driving on the very edge of control just trying to keep on the road.

Or perhaps you're a sanctimonious w*nker just trying to get a reaction. Who can tell?

Calm down dear, it's just the Internet.

I am almost sorry I was in France and not back home in Norwich. I had much fun last year steaming about in the snow at "irresponsible" (according to some berk on Surrey St who was having a coronary at me by the side of the road) speeds in my 4WD Pickup.

Were you one of the 25mph merchants then?
