I am going to need an architect soon for some improvements to our house.

I have to build a small 'plant room' to house the reverse Osmosis water treatment setup plus we're moving the boiler outside.
Now in possibly 2-3 years, I want to extend the house so thinking it would probably be a better opportunity to get some plans drawn up now with the plant room included to prevent having to build then possibly demolish the room at a later date.

Can any one recommend a good architect who is sympathetic to older houses.
I am just outside Wymondham.
Thanks,

Kev

Kev,

My son is studying to be an architect, just entered is forth year, he is based in Norwich.

He works for a nice small practice in Norwich, they are guys who have just recently set up after Savils closed down the Norwich Architects office. I think there is 3 qualified Architects and my son?

They work on historic and modern buildings, I think there name is "A Squared Architects"

I'll give you his number if you want to contact him

Regards

Patrick

PAtrick,

Yes please. I need to get some idea as to how the building will look and the best way to do the changes in stages.

Evo, I am using Budget plans from Norfolk Yellow Pages, awaiting first drawings, but he seems very reasonable and a likeable guy.

Patrick, we want to get some arch braced Oak Beams for our new roof, your forum name seems to suggest you may be able to help with that?

let me know if thats a yes.

Sorry, just read your tags, perhaps not

thanks

Hi Kevin,

I don't believe he deals with builders.

He designs and stipulates what materials have to be used.
One-off house designs are his favourite, he also does loads of extensions.

One of his projects now is a parcel of land which is having about 100 houses built, and 3 blocks of 4 story appartment blocks.
