I fancy a run to the coast in the Griff tomorrow. Can anyone recommend somewhere fairly quiet that's nice for a picnic with some good roads on the way driving
I don't particularly want to test my cooling system in the usual jam at Kings Lynn!

I usually go Downham Market, past Marham to Swaffham then take the roads towards Burnham Market or Cromer. Always seem to end up at Rougham & Wells-next-the-Sea - my favourite places despite trying to find somewhere new!
I do the coast roads in the week as they aren't busy but stay off them at weekends as they get packed & you'll always be following a caravan & there's not many places to overtake. There are interesting roads leading off the coast road & not much on them & they're always fun.
I know what you mean about cooling too! Best of luck.

We'll be heading that way tomorrow or Sunday so if you pass us, give us a wave! wavey

The A149 between Cromer & Wells / Burnham Market is usually pretty good, but this time of year could be a bit slow with tourists & caravaners. Not necessarily a problem if you just want to cruise, but a bit of a pain if you want to make progress.

The A1065 Swaffham - Fakenham road is good in places, as is the B1454 around Docking.

Just avoid the A10 Downham Market - Kings Lynnn and A149 Kings Lynn to Hunstanton.

If you coming out of Norwich the Holt road (B1149) is a fairly fast straight country road through Saxthorpe and Edgefield. Takes you to Holt, unsurprisingly, where you can takes some of the lanes to either, Weybourne, Cley or Blakeney.

Simple, go to Suffolk, it's usually quieter that way than Norfolk, and some fun lanes to play in while you are there, and you could always go the Haverhill -> Sudbury -> Hadleigh route which isn't too bad.

It's not coastal, but the B1106 between Bury and Thetford is marked in pencil in my road atlas 'nice road!'.
