For all those booked to attend the Rougham Air Display this Sunday 19th August, the RV will be at Tesco, Bury St Edmunds. Entrance is by Pass and I'll have them with me on the day, so you do need to make the RV if you're not going to end up having a punch-up with the marshals. Fun though it can be (see 'Helmingham'!) it's best avoided if possible.

We need to be in and parked by 10.00am so I suggest we assemble at Tesco for departure by 9.30am (or sooner if we're all there). If anybody is unavoidably late we'll set off anyway and I'll leave their pass with the gate marshal, rather than make everyone else late as well.

Google maps link: http://tinyurl.com/2m9f42 Tesco is at marker (A).

The passes are specific as follows:
J452 JKP
S808 KRO
Ultima Can-Am (that's tuxman)
K2 RLN
H2 MPC
HEX 470Y
EPE 46V
V8 EDL (I think that should be V8 EOL!
GP07 WOW
B8 DKP
P4 BXD
D20 BRA
N697 AHP
T9 GMJ
R732 EWV
Viper Nigel is also booked but collected his pass at the weekend.

We'll then convoy the few miles to Rougham field (which is about 3" to the right on that map nuts )

Briefing over chaps - any Qs?

ETA - this is a great opportunity to photograph aeroplanes so bring your cameras!

I've since been in touch with Rougham who tell me that no more entries can be accepted, and payment on the gate isn't possible due to the confusion it causes. So unless we have a cancellation, I'm afraid anyone who wants to go but doesn't have a Pass will have to go in the public car park and pay the standard admission charge. Sorry but it's their show and I'm just the messenger!

Should be BDX but I'm sure that won't cause a problem. See you on Sunday.

I'm really looking forward to seeing your car.
I shall have my mother in the passenger seat so I shall be following you at a steady 45mph.

Yes John, certainly more room in a barrel!jester I'm having to ease off the pies to ensure my snug fit is'nt going to end up as an impossible fit.

See you all tomorrow at 9.00ish unless it's pouring it down (certainly hope it isn't). We might have to shoot off early from the stand (3pm/4pm ish) as mother needs to catch a train from Ely.
Guess we'll bring wellies & shall try & bring the gazebo too along with umbrellas. yes

I'll ring/text Ian V if we can't make it so you chaps don't hang around or whatever. thumbup

And forgot to mention - if someone could give Scott a lift into Rougham, that would be great.

Hi Scott,
Ironically whilst the weather wasn't particularly good, it was almost dry - we had about an hour of drizzle about lunchtime and that was it!

Just like to say it was great to meet other EA pistonheaders yesterday - we had an excellent day. smile

Got 3/4 of the way home and it started raining cats & dogs - with flash flooding of the road in places - absolutely soaked to the skin!! biggrin Was still worth it though - the Dax had a good run!

I'll put some photos online later smile

It was pouring it down & foggy in Ely & it wasn't worth me driving the Cobra there in the wet, parking it on a muddy field & then having to rush back in the wet to enable Mum to catch her train. I remembered how it was last year when we took the VX & wasn't keen to repeat that!
Sorry to let you down but the weather was terrible up here & I made the right decision for us all.

Passed Ian V coming down the A10 with another Corvette at 8am south side of Downham Market with a grin on his face.

Oh sorry, I didn't see you. What were you in, the Smart ?

I must admit I was expecting the worst at leaving time, but the ground was actually very firm. We needed a big hammer to get the pegs in for the banner !!
