I've emailed you both regarding this, but just in case you pick this up first.
My car went in this week for some trim replacement at my Merc Specialist. The window trim and seals were to be replaced, however
Mercedes cocked it up, sending a broken trim part. The old cannot be put back on, and the new seal, with old broken trim cannot be put on (old trim had damage).
The broken Mercedes supplied trim was reordered, but has not arrived, meaning no quick fix for the car. It's not water tight, or air tight, or secure.
Consequently, I CANNOT make either show's over the bank holiday weekend.
As I'm sure you can understand, I'm hacked off with this!
John, this obviously means no BBQ can be supplied on the Monday
Sorry to let you all down like this....

DarrenDamn, I'll have to cancel my fishmongers order for shrimps, crayfish and Lobster for the BBQ!
I could imagine water tight being a problem (given the recent weather), but we could always move the gazebo over your car if it rained and see how many people we can get in a merc. Don't think security would be a problem at Lavenham (not sure about Stamford, bit dodgy over that way).

I've got a curtesy car, that's some beaten up, scratched-to-buggery M reg Mercedes C180 manual. Not exactly show quality!
Also more concerned about the asthetics, with bits of trim missing, I don't really think it would make a good show car
I'll be thinking of you all starving, while I tuck into a nice home-cooked family meal on Monday

'Not show quality?' Can't remember my car being upto 'show' quality
Remember it's not just the amount of polish that matters, it's what the paying public will find interesting (that's another reason for using the PH info sheets, as history, provenance, mods etc are invisible).

Just got back from Stamford a little while ago. Weather was brilliant as it was last year. Over 400 cars there this year, and a very full PH stand, although I can't tell you who half of them were !

Lots of lovely Ford's for John.
In fact I was asked to 'pick a best of stand' on the Ford RS owners club stand. There's a job for John I thought !Simon picked up another award for the Ultima (must ban him if he keeps hogging all the trophys !).
All in a great day was had by all (except maybe Phil, but you had better ask him about that !)
No pictures from me I,m afraid as my camera decided to throw a wobbly again.

Darren, close your eyes mate, there is a rear ending about to be revealed

Could have been a lot worse, could have happened to anyone though
Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed the day and am now going for a
to finish the day off nicely.
