Local Labour Councillor John Cowan,32 will tomorrow be raising his fears over the proposed Congestion Charge for Norwich at the Norfolk County Assocaition of Parish and Town Councils Annual General Meeting at East Tuddenham Village Hall.
The motion which is proposed by Barnham Broom Parish Council and is Seconded by Wymondham Town Council reads :
The Norfolk County Association of Parish and Town Councils expresses concern about proposals to introduce Road Pricing in Norwich.
NCAPTC notes that a number of people living in around Norwich need to use cars to be able to travel to and from work in Norwich.
This meeting calls on NCAPTC to work with Norfolk County Council to ensure that people who need to travel to work for work, leisure and other reasons are not financially disadvataged by Road Pricing.

Surely the angle to use is that motorists have *already paid* many times over to use the roads - most of the money they raise is not even spent on the roads. Levying small charges will not reduce traffic, simply make money for the Council and make everyone else poorer. So they have to ask - what is the REAL motive?
I think they are doing it because (1) it's fashionable (2) they can. It's about time they started representing the people, not thinking up more ways to penalise them and make their lives more expensive and difficult.
