For the regular commuters of the A14 Huntingdon to Cambridge in rush hours, how is it now the average cameras are up and running?
The few occasions I've used it at this time of the day I've arrived in Cambridge thinking another of my 9 lives has been struck off. The main incident being sat at a standstill watching a 4x4 behind me completely locked up and closing in fast. Luckily it stopped within centimetres of my boot-lid but it made me decide to find alternative routes.
The alternative routes lately seem very busy though, maybe its just with the schools going back but I'm sure the traffic has got busier in general on the back roads. I've watched and had to follow artics drop off the A14 at Godmanchester, head towards the A428 then head east again to pick up the A14/M11. Only takes a couple of these to slow progress down that route. And if they are doing it, then others will follow once they realise or once people post such routes on a public web forumwhistle

I used it recently; kept to 70 and was amazed at the number of people who overtook me and then braked hard for the cameras. Muppets.

For years now if I'm in standing traffic without a vehicle sitting behind me I put the brake lights on and off repeatedly if I see a vehicle approaching in my rear view mirror even if they're a long way off whatever road I'm on

Yeap I do that if it's a dual or motorway, A, B or minor roads it's on and off with the brake light or I think some idiots would just overtake a car with hazards on on these roads rolleyes

When I went up the A14 on the way to Silverstone I would be surprised if my average speed was much above 50 let alone 70.

I hate that road, worse place in the world for the lorry-olympics.
Plus it is the route I took to get to Norfolk...
