I am trying to gauge interest in a runway blast at Honington. It wont be as simple as turn up and play because I need to sort out medical and fire cover but doing the ground work at the moment.

The cost will be around 350 quid for the day so if I get lots of people the cost could be very low for each person. (100 people only 3.50 each etc), but runs will be limited the more people turn up.

Will be a spring summer thing so decent traction and braking can be had.

The need for volunteer marshalls and the like will be looked into also.

If I can get a feeling for how many would like such an event then I will look into dates and start the paperwork trail going.

Me & Scott aswell (2 cars). Pity it's a straight line though - any chance of some other activities?

Not sure if a 'track' can be sorted but we have a small kart track which may be part of the day. The difficulties of designing a track and providing marshalls is a big event. I was kinda thinking of making it a fun sunday out. Meal at pub and blast down a track etc.

If you make it the last Sunday of a month we could consider adopting and promoting the event under the PHEA banner. What do you think Ian?

Could be fun. Maybe set up a speed trap at the end of the straight to see who really has got the faster car wink

Sounds like fun, I'd definitely be up for it if there's a kart track involved!

Am also interested. I did Fighting Torque at Wattisham and it was great fun.

Is the plan to time cars (& bikes?) or just have one-on-one races?

Any chance of a circuit setup as per September 06 idea .Raf Marham is a great weekend out and would be great if we could have another one inbetween their dates?
I have heard that the new guvnor (station commander?) is against circuit days, but someone also remarked that cones were laid out in a course format earlier in the year?
Straight line blasts personally don't appeal - can do that on the A14 nono and the old sunbeam prefers the twisty bits....
